Overview
- Four masked intruders forced the main door of the Fondazione Magnani Rocca near Parma during the night of March 22–23 and fled through the villa’s park with three artworks.
- The stolen pieces are Renoir’s Les Poissons (1917), Cézanne’s Nature morte aux cerises (1885–1887), and Matisse’s L’odalisque sur la terrasse (1922).
- The museum said the raid took less than three minutes and appeared planned, and alarms plus a rapid security and Carabinieri response cut the thieves’ time inside.
- Carabinieri are analyzing surveillance from the museum and nearby homes and shops, and no arrests or recoveries have been reported.
- Press reports value the haul at several million euros, with one estimate near €9 million, and the Cézanne work came from the museum’s permanent collection.
