Overview
- Renault officially revealed the Niagara on Thursday and confirmed it will be assembled at the Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba, Argentina, with combustion versions due to go on sale from November 2026.
- The Niagara is a Duster/Boreal‑derived unibody truck on the RGMP platform that offers a 1.3‑litre turbo flex engine that makes about 156 hp on petrol and 160 hp on ethanol, a six‑speed manual or six‑speed dual‑clutch and a top Outsider trim that adds four‑wheel drive.
- Renault published key figures for the Niagara including roughly 4,940 mm length, a 2,960 mm wheelbase, 938‑litre cargo volume, 654 kg payload and 710 kg towing capacity, plus a driver digital cluster, 10.1‑inch infotainment and a full ADAS suite.
- The company said the model will be sold mainly in Brazil, Argentina and Colombia and will be produced only in left‑hand drive, a decision that rules out right‑hand‑drive markets for now and limits exports.
- The launch is part of Renault’s futuREady plan to diversify away from Europe into growth markets where pickups account for a large share of sales, and the Niagara could receive a 48‑volt mild‑hybrid system when Renault rolls out hybrids in Latin America from 2027, which would narrow the gap with rivals that already offer electrified options.
