Renault Unveils ‘futuREady’ With 36 New Models by 2030 and an 800-Volt EV Platform

Cost-cutting technology underpins a push to counter low-cost rivals through tougher performance demands on plants.

Overview

  • The plan targets sales of more than two million vehicles a year by 2030, with half outside Europe and all European registrations electrified.
  • A new RGEV Medium 2.0 platform promises 800‑volt architecture, up to 750 km range, 10‑minute fast charging by 2030 and a 40% cut in EV production costs.
  • Operational goals include AI-driven quality control, factory digital twins and 350 humanoid robots, with targets of 20% lower production costs, 25% less factory energy use and 30% lower logistics costs, plus two‑year development cycles.
  • Renault plans to build more than 300,000 vehicles annually for partners such as Nissan, Mitsubishi, Volvo Group, Geely and Ford to optimize capacity and margins.
  • Allocation of new models and the 800‑volt platform to Spain’s Palencia plant remains conditional on labor agreements, greater flexibility and lower absenteeism.
