Renault Sets 2030 Europe Goal for 100% Electrified Sales as It Unveils ‘FutuREady’ Plan

Slower BEV demand plus EU flexibility on 2035 prompted Renault to keep hybrids in its 2030 target.

Overview

  • The Renault brand will stop selling cars powered solely by petrol or diesel in Europe by 2030 and will keep hybrid models on sale beyond that date.
  • The 2026–2030 ‘futuREady’ program calls for 36 new models worldwide, including 16 battery‑electric vehicles, with 12 launches slated for Europe and 14 developed for India, South Korea and Latin America.
  • Renault targets 50% electrified sales outside Europe by 2030 and more than 2 million annual vehicle sales globally, with half generated beyond Europe.
  • A new 800‑volt RGEV Medium 2.0 platform will support EVs and extended‑range EVs, with stated aims of 10‑minute fast charges by 2030, EREV ranges up to about 1,400 km and new rare‑earth‑free electric motors.
  • Renault will introduce its first software‑defined vehicle in 2026—an electric Trafic built in Sandouville—as it pursues faster two‑year development cycles and cost reductions through platform and software advances.
