Renault Details India-Specific RGMP Platform for Duster Ahead of March 17 Launch

The new architecture adds Google SWEET400 electronics to accommodate petrol, CNG, hybrid or electric drivetrains.

Overview

  • Renault showcased the RGMP with modular lengths ranging from sub-4 metres to 4.7 metres and wheelbases of roughly 2.63 to 2.7 metres.
  • The platform is designed for multiple body styles with 5-, 6- and 7-seat configurations to support a family of future models.
  • The India launch is slated for March 17, 2026, with first deliveries expected next month and initial 1.0‑litre turbo and 1.3‑litre GDi turbo‑petrol engines.
  • A 1.8‑litre strong‑hybrid variant is planned for the 2026 festival season, expanding the powertrain lineup beyond the petrol options at launch.
  • India‑specific engineering includes 12 ADAS functions tuned for local conditions, a larger AC compressor, 12 parking sensors, low‑steel brake pads, a 100A BLDC EPS motor and a rear stabiliser bar, with Renault citing about 57% AHSS and a five‑star NCAP target pending independent tests.
