Remedy Posts Profitable Q1 as New CEO Prioritizes 2026 Launch of Control Resonant

The studio leans on rising catalogue sales and platform royalties to steady results.

Overview

  • Remedy reported first-quarter revenue of €13.1 million, down 1.9% year over year, with operating profit of €1.0 million, down 23%, and said the period was profitable.
  • New CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon, who took over on March 1, said the top goal is a high-quality launch for Control Resonant in 2026 and said development is on track.
  • Game sales and royalties increased, helped by stronger publishing for Control and new platform-deal royalties after Alan Wake 2 and Alan Wake Remastered joined Amazon’s Luna.
  • Development fees declined but still made up more than half of revenue, led by work on Control Resonant and the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes.
  • Control passed six million lifetime sales, and Remedy said FBC: Firebreak fell short of targets but will remain playable with low upkeep costs.
