Relacorilant and Pembrolizumab Extend Survival in Platinum-Resistant Ovarian Cancer

Peer-reviewed results in The Lancet position the combinations as candidates for a new standard of care.

Overview

  • The Lancet published two trial reports that were also presented at the SGO 2026 women’s cancer meeting.
  • In a study of 381 patients, relacorilant plus nab-paclitaxel cut the risk of death by 35% and increased median survival to 16.0 months from 11.9.
  • A separate study of 643 women found pembrolizumab added to usual care raised median survival to 17.7 months versus 14.0.
  • Investigators said the results support these regimens as new standards of care for patients whose disease resists platinum-based chemotherapy.
  • Platinum-resistant ovarian cancer progresses within six months after platinum treatment and has had median survival near one year, leaving few effective options.
