Overview
- Spain’s Cantabria recorded an unprecedented June high of 43.7 °C in Tama, a peak disclosed in late June that capped a heat episode in which at least one station exceeded 40 °C on four consecutive days.
- AEMET reported that many Cantabrian stations logged their highest June values during the multi‑day heatwave, marking an unusual combination of peak temperature and sustained extreme warmth across the region.
- Mexico’s Servicio Meteorológico Nacional forecast very heavy localized rains of 50–75 mm for southern Veracruz and parts of Oaxaca and said it is monitoring Tropical Wave 12 for added moisture into the southeast.
