Overview
- The 7.53 km Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere segment is slated to enter RDSO trials by the end of March, with testing expected to run for about two weeks.
- RDSO, the national rail standards body, will assess braking, speed, track geometry, oscillation, signalling integration and power systems under load.
- After trials, BMRCL must secure a Railway Board technical sanction, followed by a final inspection from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety before riders can board.
- BMRCL is targeting a mid-2026 opening for the elevated section, with multiple outlets citing May, and it plans to finish the 13 km underground Dairy Circle–Nagawara stretch by December 2026.
- BEML is supplying 318 CBTC-equipped cars under a ₹3,000 crore contract, enabling future driverless operations once the system is fully commissioned.
