RCMP Lead Search for Missing Australian Hiker in Cape Breton Park

Finding her car at the Acadian Trail visitor centre has focused efforts there.

  • Police opened the missing-person case Tuesday after she was reported overdue on April 28.
  • Her rented Nissan Sentra was located next to the Parks Canada visitor centre by the Acadian Trail, an 8.4-kilometre loop with steep, rugged sections and wildlife advisories, with cold and windy weather also forecast.
  • Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says it is providing consular assistance to her family.
