RCMP Dismantle 'RoadRunna' Dark-Web Drug Network, Charge Seven in GTA

A German marketplace takedown supplied the data that led RCMP teams to the vendor through cross-border cooperation.

Overview

  • Officers executed several Ontario search warrants, seizing about 75 kilograms of cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, heroin and ketamine, plus roughly 10,000 tablets, electronic devices and RoadRunna-branded packaging.
  • Investigators allege the operation shipped approximately 400 parcels each week to addresses across Canada using postal channels.
  • The probe started with the RCMP Cybercrime Unit in Vancouver and was later moved to the Serious and Organized Crime Unit in Milton due to scope.
  • Seven men from the Greater Toronto Area, ages 30 to 46, were arrested on counts including conspiracy, trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking, with some weapons-related charges.
  • RCMP cited support from FINTRAC, JCAT Europol and Canada Post Security and noted that dark-web drug sales typically rely on cryptocurrency to obscure identities and financial trails.
