- The RBI allowed premature redemption of SGB 2019-20 Series VII on Dec. 10, 2025 at Rs 12,827 per unit, calculated from IBJA closing prices on Dec. 5, 8 and 9.
- Investors in the 2019-20 Series VII, issued at Rs 3,795 per gram, are set to realize roughly Rs 9,032 per gram in gains, or about 238% over six years, excluding interest.
- SGBs carry an eight-year tenor with exit allowed after five years on interest dates, pay 2.5% annual interest (taxable), and redemption proceeds are credited directly to investors’ bank accounts upon request through the original distributor.
