RBI Publishes July 2026 Bank Holiday Calendar With Five Nationwide Dates and State‑Level Closures

Customers should finish any branch-only work before the listed holiday dates because digital banking and ATMs will generally keep working.

Overview

  • The Reserve Bank of India’s July 2026 calendar sets nationwide bank closures on July 5, 11, 12, 25 and 26 and keeps the usual Sundays plus the second and fourth Saturdays as holidays.
  • Several states will observe additional, local bank holidays for regional festivals, for example Mizoram (July 6), Meghalaya (July 9 and 17), Odisha, Manipur and Uttarakhand (July 16), Sikkim (July 18) and Tripura (July 22).
  • Most digital services such as UPI, mobile and internet banking will remain available during these closures and ATMs should operate, though cash at machines depends on local replenishment schedules.
  • Branch-only services will be suspended on holiday dates, including cheque clearance, demand draft issuance, counter cash transactions, loan processing and passbook updates, so customers should plan those tasks in advance.
  • The RBI issues a monthly holiday list that creates different closure patterns across India, and July’s schedule amounts to about 12 closure days when weekly and state-specific holidays are combined, so customers and businesses should check their state-wise list before visiting a branch.
