RBI Opens Recruitment for 12 Young Professionals With ₹1.5 Lakh Stipend

The contracts bring specialist skills in emerging technology, climate finance, payments, risk to the central bank’s Mumbai office.

Overview

  • The Reserve Bank of India invited applications in mid-June for 12 Young Professional posts that cover areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, climate change risk, cyber security and payments.
  • Selected YPs will receive a fixed monthly stipend of ₹1.5 lakh on a contractual engagement that starts with an initial three-year term and may be extended up to five years, with no housing, pension, gratuity or other government employee benefits.
  • The RBI notification, published Tuesday, June 16, gives most deadlines as July 6, 2026, while one reputable report lists July 16, 2026, so applicants should confirm the cutoff against the official notice or contact yphrmdco@rbi.org.in before sending materials.
  • Applications must be submitted by email with prescribed documents (form, CV, transcripts, statement of interest, writing sample and a reference) using the subject line format specified by the RBI, and candidates should expect a multi-stage selection process of screening, document verification and personal interview.
  • Appointments will be full-time at the RBI Central Office in Mumbai with expected joining between August and October 2026, offering early-career professionals direct exposure to central-bank policy work and the chance to shape tech and climate-related regulation.
