Ravens Lock In August Joint Practices as Texans and Panthers Outline Preseason Plans

Coaches lean on controlled, high‑intensity sessions to evaluate starters who see limited snaps in exhibition games.

Overview

  • The Ravens said Monday they will practice with the Vikings on Aug. 19–20 in Eagan and host the Commanders on Aug. 26 in Owings Mills ahead of preseason games on Aug. 22 and Aug. 28.
  • The Vikings confirmed they will stage the two-day sessions at TCO Performance Center, with practice times and ticket details to come for what is their only home preseason week.
  • The Houston Chronicle reported the Texans are expected to hold one-day joint practices with the Raiders on Aug. 18 in Houston and with the Panthers on Aug. 26 in Charlotte, which has not yet been announced by the teams.
  • Panthers head coach Dave Canales confirmed Jacksonville will host joint work during Week 2 of the preseason and said these practices create a controlled setting to script goal line and other situational reps.
  • Ravens coach Jesse Minter and others emphasized that joint practices offer competitive reps against new schemes, which teams now prize because many starters play little or not at all in August games.
