Overview
- The attack occurred around 2:20 a.m. as three off-duty line 6 drivers were leaving work, when a man returned to demand a cigarette and stabbed one driver in the abdomen, thigh and armpit.
- The victim was transported to La Pitié-Salpêtrière and described as in a reassuring and stable condition after initial treatment.
- RATP security agents (GPSR) disarmed and restrained the suspect, a man found intoxicated, and a knife was recovered at the scene.
- The suspect, slightly injured, was taken to Saint-Antoine Hospital and placed in a sobering cell, with his formal custody deferred due to intoxication.
- Prosecutors opened an investigation for attempted intentional homicide, the case was assigned to the 20th arrondissement commissariat, and RATP condemned the violence and said it will file a complaint.
