Overview
- Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus named a 40-player group Wednesday for an in-person alignment camp in Cape Town from 19 to 21 May.
- First-time invitees Sibabalwe Mahashe and 18-year-old Zekhethelo Siyaya join a group that also recalls scrumhalf Embrose Papier.
- Ten uncapped players are included, featuring Junior Bok captain Riley Norton, Lions No 8 Francke Horn and centre Henco van Wyk.
- With several regulars injured, Erasmus set the camp to teach systems and grow depth so new faces can step in with less disruption.
- A follow-up virtual camp will bring in overseas players as the Boks build toward 20 June’s Barbarians match and July’s home Nations Championship Tests.
