Overview
- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw virtually flagged off the inaugural Ramnagar–Dehradun Express with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joining by video, calling the service a long‑pending demand for the region.
- Railways published a biweekly operating plan for the new service that runs on Wednesdays and Fridays as Train No. 15310 (Ramnagar to Dehradun) and 15309 (return), with specific departure and arrival times announced.
- The train will stop at Kashipur, Roshanpur, Pipalsana, Moradabad, Najibabad and Haridwar and will include AC Second, AC Third, AC Chair Car, Sleeper, Second Sitting and General coaches to serve different passenger needs.
- Officials said a master plan will develop Rishikesh as a feeder to ease pressure on Haridwar and that 11 Uttarakhand stations including Dehradun, Haridwar, Ramnagar and Kathgodam are slated for redevelopment to handle rising traffic.
