Rajasthan SOG Arrests 20 in Teacher Recruitment Scam Using Fake Taekwondo Certificates

Investigators traced forged verification emails to a Dubai-created account that impersonated the Taekwondo Federation of India.

Overview

  • Coordinated March 12 raids across 14 Rajasthan districts and one Haryana location led to the arrests, police said.
  • Those held include 19 candidates accused of securing Grade III teacher posts under the sports quota using forged credentials.
  • A misspelling of “secretary” in a purported federation email tipped off investigators, who later recovered a screenshot referencing 39 candidates.
  • Police say the account was operated by middleman Vimalendu Kumar Jha; he and associate Ravi Sharma were arrested and the SIM used to create the email was seized.
  • A case has been registered under IPC sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B and IT Act Section 66-D, as probes continue into brokers, payment flows and additional suspects.
