Overview
- Raj Bhavan removed Prof. (Dr.) Devswaroop from his posts with immediate effect on Thursday after receiving the inquiry committee's report.
- The probe was launched after an academic complaint and was carried out by a three‑member high‑level committee headed by Kota University VC Dr. Bhagwati Prasad Saraswat.
- The committee examined recruitment files, interview assessment sheets and selection records and concluded that appointments had bypassed university rules and ignored UGC regulations.
- The report flagged failures to follow legally mandated reservation procedures for SC, ST and differently‑abled candidates and said certain candidates were favoured in selections.
- The governor issued the removal order in consultation with the state government and has placed interim charges at the two universities while further administrative or legal follow‑up is awaited.
