Overview
- An order dated 2 February deputed five government school teachers from Nainwa block in Bundi for duties linked to a nine-day religious event at Ambika Mata Temple in Bansi village.
- The deputation, set for 2–7 February, was cancelled the same day, and the teachers were told to return to their original postings immediately.
- The Chief Block Education Officer in Nainwa said the directive was wrong and confirmed it was withdrawn once this was realised.
- Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra raised the issue in the Rajasthan Assembly, calling the use of teachers for religious activities improper and a misuse of the education system.
- Congress leaders said the reversal validated their objection, while Education Minister Madan Dilawar did not offer an immediate response to questions about political pressure.
