Rajasthan Adds Dausa and Karauli to Daytime Irrigation Power Plan

Overview

• Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that the daytime electricity schedule for farm irrigation now includes Dausa and Karauli, raising coverage to 24 Rajasthan districts.
• The programme supplies power in two daytime blocks so farmers can run pumps without relying on late-night supply.
• About 87,801 agricultural consumers are set to benefit, including 52,460 in Dausa and 35,341 in Karauli, according to official figures.
• Recent upgrades enabled the expansion, with 18 new 33 kV substations and 128.95 MVA of added transformer capacity in Dausa, and six new 33 kV substations and 49.45 MVA added in Karauli.
• Seventeen solar plants totaling 32 MW were installed in the two districts under the PM-KUSUM farm solar scheme, and the state plans a phased rollout to all 50 districts by 2027.
