Railway Police Report Arrests, Major Recoveries and 120 Children Rescued Across Zones

  • South Central Railway’s Railway Protection Force said it rescued 120 children, arrested 79 offenders, and recovered stolen passenger property worth ₹54.52 lakh across 71 cases.
  • The force also traced 319 lost bags and gadgets worth ₹83.35 lakh and returned them to passengers, with Child Welfare Committees taking custody of rescued minors.
  • In Bengaluru, a joint RPF–GRP team at Banaswadi station detained four suspects linked to theft cases and recovered two laptops, two phones, and a bag worth about ₹2.05 lakh.
  • GRP units in Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior reported more than ₹21 lakh in recoveries from recent theft cases, including jewellery and cash seized from alleged repeat offenders.
  • Police said CCTV review, informant tips, and sustained patrols drove the results, with routine checks and investigations continuing to curb theft on busy trains and platforms.
