RailTel Wins Rs 564.54 Crore RVNL Tunnel-Communication Contracts

The awards lift April inflows, signaling multi‑year revenue from rail safety systems.

Overview

  • RailTel, which on Wednesday disclosed two Letters of Acceptance from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, will supply and install integrated tunnel communication systems worth Rs 564.54 crore that link VHF radio, CCTV, public address units and emergency call points.
  • Following the disclosures, the railway PSU’s shares jumped about 14 percent in intraday trade as investors priced in stronger future work.
  • The company also reported a separate Rs 43.96 crore order from the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board to provide security services for recruitment exams through April 12, 2028.
  • Earlier in April, RailTel won a Rs 23.18 crore project to build an online portal for the Goa construction workers’ welfare board and a Rs 12.85 crore IT systems contract from MGIMS Wardha.
  • A Rs 17.12 crore order from Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti was canceled for administrative reasons, a reminder that public-sector orders can change even as large rail projects take years to execute and book as revenue.
