Raids in Stoke-on-Trent Seize Suspected Monkey Dust and Crack Cocaine as Countywide Actions Net Four Arrests

Police say they will keep acting on intelligence to disrupt drug supply across Staffordshire.

  • Officers searched homes on Uttoxeter Road in Longton and Harrowby Road in Meir on February 2, recovering powders believed to be monkey dust and crack cocaine along with cash and phones.
  • Two men were detained in the Stoke-on-Trent operation, including a 27-year-old of no fixed address on suspicion of class A and class B supply offenses and a 28-year-old local man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.
  • A linked traffic stop on January 30 in Tamworth uncovered clip-seal bags of suspected class A drugs concealed in a red sock, plus cash and mobile phones, inside a silver Jaguar.
  • A 25-year-old woman from Birmingham and a 22-year-old man from Essex were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs following the Tamworth stop.
  • All four suspects remain in custody as inquiries continue, and police also seized the Tamworth vehicle while the male suspect was dealt with for driving without insurance and not in accordance with a licence.
