Overview
- Radiohead issued a statement telling ICE to take down the post and ended with the phrase “go f--- yourselves,” after the agency used a version of the song in a promotional video.
- ICE posted the video on Feb. 18 with a choral rendition of Let Down over images of alleged victims and the caption, “This is who we fight for. This is our why.”
- The clip was also shared by accounts for the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, and President Donald Trump, and it remains publicly visible on ICE’s feed.
- A spokesperson for Radiohead said the song was used without the band’s permission, while DHS and ICE did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
- The dispute echoes earlier objections from artists including Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter and follows Jonny Greenwood and Paul Thomas Anderson seeking removal of Phantom Thread music from the Melania documentary.
