Overview
- Queens of the Stone Age, which announced Perfecth on Tuesday, said the album will be released Oct. 30 on Matador and also debuted the single “Insignificant Other.”
- The record is nine tracks long and was self-produced by Josh Homme and Michael Shuman after sessions tracked in cities including New Orleans and Los Angeles.
- The band frames Perfecth around kintsugi, the idea of repair making broken things more beautiful, and says the songs deliberately embrace loose, captured performances rather than heavy polishing.
- “Insignificant Other” is presented as the album’s centerpiece, was captured on the second of only two takes, and comes with a Chapman Baehler-directed video featuring a character called Big Chongus.
- The rollout ties directly to live plans: QOTSA will resume stadium dates with Foo Fighters on Sept. 15, are booked for fall international shows in Asia and Australia, and will offer multiple physical formats including a limited deluxe gatefold edition sold via the band and Matador webstores.
