Overview
- A father had filed a missing-person complaint after his about 22-year-old daughter did not return from Government ITI Ghumar Mandi and met Duty Officer ASI Hardeep Singh at Division No. 8 police station.
- VB officials allege the ASI demanded Rs 20,000 to act on the report and took an initial Rs 6,000 before seeking the remaining Rs 14,000 for a copy of the FIR and further action.
- The complainant refused to pay the balance and approached the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, which laid a trap based on his report.
