  • Amritsar rural police intercepted two suspects near Khasa on a motorcycle and recovered 103 packets of heroin weighing 51.5 kg from a bag.
  • The arrested men were identified as Gurjeet Singh alias Jeet and Ranjeet Singh alias Dhillon, both residents of Amritsar.
  • An FIR was registered at Gharinda police station under Sections 21(c), 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
  • The seizure followed an earlier recovery in the district of nearly 43 kg of heroin along with four grenades, a Star Mark pistol and 46 cartridges, bringing the 24-hour total to roughly 94–94.5 kg.
