Punjab Police Nab Six in Two Cross-Border Arms-Drug Modules, Seize Rare Pistols and Heroin

Investigators cite links to Pakistan-based handlers using drones to move contraband.

Overview

  • Police said the two modules led to six arrests in Amritsar with the recovery of six pistols, 60 cartridges and about 3.5 kg of heroin.
  • The haul included three PX 5.7x28mm TISAS Turkey pistols described by officials as sophisticated and rarely recovered in the state.
  • DGP Gaurav Yadav said the accused operated under a cross-border handler near the Indo‑Pak border, and separate cases have been registered as investigations map linkages.
  • A day earlier, Amritsar Rural Police arrested two suspects identified as Gursevak Singh and Amarjit Singh, recovering an AK‑47, three Glock pistols and ammunition.
  • Police said the earlier case carries Arms Act and UAPA charges, with preliminary findings pointing to foreign-based, possibly ISI-linked handlers using social media and suspected drone drops, as inquiries continue.
