Punjab Opens Rajanpur’s First Electric Bus Service, Pairing Launch With 250,000-Acre Land Pledge

  • Fifteen electric buses are now operating in Rajanpur on three routes, with initial services on the 22 km Fazilpur–Rajanpur and 18 km Kot MithanRajanpur corridors.
  • Students, women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities travel free on the new service, while the standard fare for other passengers is set at Rs20.
  • The buses feature free Wi‑Fi, charging ports, women-only compartments, CCTV, digital driver monitoring and wheelchair ramps, with live oversight via a command-and-control centre.
  • Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar plan to allocate 250,000 acres of state land to eligible beneficiaries in 3–5 acre parcels, alongside Kisan Cards for inputs.
