- Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Water and Sanitation Agency’s Sewerage Fleet Phase I in Lahore, kicking off a district rollout of sewerage operations.
- Phase I deploys 552 machines across 15 districts, using suction units, jetting and desilting rigs, water bowsers, and dewatering pumps.
- Officials said WASA services are now established across 41 districts to run drainage and sanitation at the local level.
- Provincial leaders said district teams will respond faster to heavy rains and urban flooding with drainage arranged before the monsoon.
- A second phase will send 937 more machines to 22 districts to extend coverage across the province.
