- Punjab’s government, which unveiled the online portal Thursday, has begun the pre-application phase for its land-lease program.
- Online applications run May 2–18, appeals are set for June 1–8 at deputy commissioners’ offices, the final list is due June 19, and allotments start June 30.
- The scheme covers more than 124,000 irrigated acres valued at about Rs160 billion for cultivation-only use.
- Officials listed 13,812 plots to benefit 88,780 families in districts and 16,685 plots for 101,111 families in Cholistan.
- Winners will lease land for 10 years, receive plots valued at Rs2.5–4 million, get a one-time grant of Rs50,000–250,000 per acre, see parcels chosen for water and soil quality, face balloting for contested plots, and have each plot overseen by an agriculture officer and an internee with twice-yearly inspections.
