- More than 600 families in Jhelum received allotment letters for free three-marla plots after a computerized draw that followed NADRA and revenue verification, a ceremony officials held on Saturday.
- Jhelum’s selection began with 5,942 online applications, 4,303 were NADRA-verified and 730 names were chosen by the revenue department’s computerised lottery.
- Punjab announced an expansion of its Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme to offer interest-free loans of Rs500,000 to Rs1,000,000 for new construction, roof work and repairs through a dedicated e-portal.
- Provincial officials say allottees can also access an interest-free Rs1.5 million loan from the Bank of Punjab while the federal Prime Minister Apna Ghar scheme provides larger concessional loans up to Rs10 million at about 5% interest.
- The government reports 170,000 interest-free loans already disbursed under the provincial programme and has set a target to add 100,000 more households next fiscal year while stressing NADRA checks, computerized draws and a digital application system to boost transparency and speed.
