Pune Metro Line 3 Sets June 15 Start, Full Stretch by October

The phased launch will cut travel time by linking the Hinjewadi IT hub to central Pune.

Overview

  • PMRDA confirmed services will begin by June 15 on 12 stations from the Hinjewadi side, with full operations to Shivajinagar targeted for October.
  • Trial runs across the entire 23.2 km elevated corridor have been completed, according to Metropolitan Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari.
  • Work is about 90% complete as PMRDA teams clear site hurdles, including fixing a leaking civic water pipeline near the Pashan ramp and freeing space for staircase construction in Baner.
  • The first segment will cover key stops from Megapolis Society through Wakad Chowk to Ramnagar, easing daily trips for thousands of IT workers and residents.
  • The project is a public–private partnership built by a Tata–Siemens venture, with Keolis set to operate trains, stations, and ticketing for 10 years.
