Overview
- The incident occurred on February 18 between about 6:50 am and 7:20 am near Dudhane Lawns in Pune’s Warje Malwadi area.
- The accused, identified as 29-year-old Dnyaneshwar Suresh Rairikar, allegedly drove the girl to a secluded spot, assaulted her in his car, and issued threats.
- The girl informed her mother later that night, an FIR was filed at the Warje-Malwadi police station, and police arrested the suspect soon after.
- A local court remanded Rairikar to police custody for two days, and officers seized the second-hand car he had recently purchased.
