Puebla Sets Guinness Record With 6-Kilometer Rosca as Mexico City Shares Mega Loaf With 28,000

Guinness verification in Puebla signaled coordinated civic efforts pairing tradition with public support across the capital.

Overview

  • Puebla was officially accredited by Guinness World Records for the longest line of bread after assembling 19,010 Rosca de Reyes pieces of 30 centimeters each into a continuous stretch of roughly six kilometers, surpassing a previous mark just over 18,200 pieces.
  • An onsite Guinness evaluator inspected the Puebla installation before certification, as state and municipal leaders Alejandro Armenta and Pepe Chedraui presided over the event where thousands of attendees were served.
  • Local bakers produced the Puebla rosca with ingredients and logistics supplied by Grupo Gran Bodega, while the route spanned 11 Norte, Reforma/Juan de Palafox y Mendoza, Bulevar 5 de Mayo and reached 29 Oriente.
  • In Mexico City, Jefa de Gobierno Clara Brugada led a 400-meter, 1,800-kilogram Mega Rosca divided into 600 sections at the Ángel de la Independencia, serving about 28,000 people and distributing 15,000 toys.
  • The capital’s rosca was prepared with the National Chamber of the Bakery Industry, involved roughly 2,000 participants from 25 bakeries, was shared simultaneously across all 16 boroughs, and received milk donations from FEMSA.
