Overview
- Pudsey Finds His Voice, a 30-second film, premiered on BBC One’s The One Show at 7pm on Monday and is now airing across BBC TV and radio.
- The spot features Pudsey in conversation with child actor Dexter Sol Ansell and was co-produced by BBC Creative and Blinkink.
- BBC Children In Need announced £1.24m for support services, including £745,000 to Mental Health Innovations to expand the Shout text service for 13–18-year-olds and £500,000 to The Children’s Society’s Space to Grow work in schools and communities.
- New Censuswide research for the campaign reports that 24% of children keep worries to themselves and 38% say worries have made life less enjoyable, while those with someone to talk to are about nine times more likely to feel happy.
- The charity is also sharing practical guidance with The Children’s Society to help adults start safe conversations, using Pudsey’s first-ever voice since his 1985 debut to draw attention to children who feel unheard.
