- PSNI opened a malicious communications investigation Tuesday after multiple schools and businesses in County Antrim received a threatening email.
- Officers assessed the messages as a deliberate attempt to cause significant disruption, said nothing suspicious was found, and called the threat not credible.
- Police said six schools were affected in areas including Randalstown, Ballycraigy and Antrim town, with several businesses hit and one based in Ballycastle also named.
- Schools adopted precautionary measures, with St Benedict’s College locking doors and keeping pupils indoors as the Education Authority liaised with PSNI.
- Detectives are examining a link to a false report to a Mull Road address on Monday night, and the public was urged not to share related posts and to report information quoting reference 162 19/05/26.
