PSNI Opens Murder Investigation After Fatal East Belfast Apartment Assault

Police launched a murder inquiry after a 51-year-old man died from injuries sustained in an assault inside an East Belfast apartment building around 4:45am.
Officers said the incident was reported to police at about 8:25am that morning.
Investigators believe several intruders entered the building, attacked the man, and fled the scene.
A 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and later released on bail.
