Prosecutors Seek Return to Jail for Ex-Teacher After 85 Alleged Bond Violations

A court filing says Nichols repeatedly left her monitored home and visited places where children gather, and a June 29 hearing will decide whether she is jailed pending trial.

Overview

  • The state's motion, filed Tuesday, says electronic monitoring records show 38 home curfew violations and 47 inclusion-zone breaches over a 27-day period while Nichols was on house arrest.
  • Nichols, 25, faces 13 criminal counts that include child molestation, grooming, improper sexual contact and tampering after an initial May 8 arrest and a May 20 re-arrest as investigators identified up to six alleged victims.
  • Detectives executed search warrants on phones, a school-issued laptop and home surveillance and sought OnlyFans account records as part of a probe that includes allegations some students threatened to expose an account for better grades.
  • Prosecutors say Nichols’ alleged travel to retail sites and locations frequented by children undermines bail limits and raises concerns she could reoffend or intimidate witnesses, which is why they are asking a judge to revoke her bond.
  • Alexander High has suspended Nichols and investigators continue forensic review of digital and physical evidence that could corroborate allegations or lead to additional charges while the case moves toward the June 29 bond-revocation hearing.
