Prosecutors Detail Alleged £120,000 Drug‑Debt Plot in Plymouth Acid Murder Trial

Jurors heard of threats from the victim’s ex-wife, with the alleged organiser Ryan ‘Frost’ Kennedy believed to be in Dubai.

Overview

  • At Winchester Crown Court, prosecutors said messages show Danny Cahalane owed Ryan “Frost” Kennedy about £120,000 over drug dealings and gambling losses.
  • Ten defendants are on trial, with seven charged with murder or an alternative count of manslaughter.
  • Paris Wilson, Cahalane’s ex-wife, is accused of helping to set up the ambush and of sending a text wishing acid on him, and she denies all charges.
  • Prosecutors say an attempted kidnapping on 19 January 2025 preceded the fatal 21 February home invasion in which two men threw sulphuric acid and stabbed Cahalane; he died on 3 May after 10 weeks in hospital.
  • Nine defendants also face organised crime charges linked to drug supply and debt enforcement between 1 January and 11 April 2025.
