Overview
- Beverley Frank, a custody officer at HMP Millsike, admitted sending intimate photographs to a prisoner during a relationship that took place between 26 August and 21 September 2025.
- The correspondence was identified after the prison’s head of IT reviewed sample emails on 15 September 2025 and compared images with staff photos before authorising phone monitoring.
- Frank was detained on duty on 20 September 2025, initially denied contact, then admitted the relationship and had a mobile phone seized that contained the images.
- At Hull Crown Court on Monday, 29 June 2026, she pleaded guilty and was given an eight-month suspended prison sentence, 100 hours unpaid work, 15 days of rehabilitation and a one-year ban on contacting the prisoner, with her phone ordered forfeited.
- Prosecutors and defence said there was no evidence of smuggling or wider abuse, the officer had received training on risks of staff–prisoner relationships, and the case underlined how routine monitoring and clearer staff safeguards can reduce security threats.
