Overview
- The Princess of Wales completed the National Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday, June 28, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in roughly 24 hours to fundraise for The Royal Marsden.
- Kensington Palace said she undertook the route independently with the support of Mountain Rescue teams and that she reunited with family at the Snowdon finish.
- The couple’s official accounts released family photographs showing Prince William, their three children, Carole and Michael Middleton and James Middleton greeting Kate after the trek, with at least one image credited to royal photographer Matt Porteous.
- James Middleton joined his sister for part of the challenge and publicly praised her; on the route Kate stopped to meet an 11‑year‑old wheelchair user, Ted, and later made a reported donation to his JustGiving fundraiser which had raised more than £11,000.
- The Royal Marsden fundraising drive linked to the climb remains live and the Princess has continued public duties, including a recent visit to Evelina London Children’s Hospital to promote broader access to psychosocial and holistic support for people living with and beyond cancer.
