Prince William Opens Rob Burrow Centre for MND in Leeds

A £6.8 million campaign delivered a patient-centred hub for motor neurone disease in Leeds.

Overview

  • The centre is the UK’s first purpose-built facility dedicated to MND care, research, education and holistic support.
  • Based at Seacroft Hospital, it is now operational following a Leeds Hospitals Charity project led by consultant Dr Agam Jung.
  • William toured the site with Dr Jung, met patients and staff, and spent time with Lindsey Burrow and children Macy, Maya and Jackson, alongside fundraiser Kevin Sinfield.
  • The opening honored a request Burrow made when William presented CBEs in January 2024, capping fundraising for the centre and complementing more than £10 million raised for MND charities.
  • After asking what would help the team, William gifted a coffee machine, with the visit and opening shared on the Waleses’ official social media.
