Overview
- During an INE session, PRI representative Marcela Guerra urged a clear institutional position on whether García González has a conflict of interest and requested follow-up by the internal watchdog and, if needed, the federal auditor.
- García González previously represented Corporativo Zeg and Cajas Graf, major electoral-material vendors, before being directly designated by INE president Guadalupe Taddei as director of administration in September 2025 without full council approval.
- The UIF placed Zeg and Cajas Graf on a blocked list in November 2023 over suspected money-laundering, a measure later overturned by courts on procedural grounds without judging the legality of the funds.
- In January 2025, Zeg—represented by García González at the time—contested an INE procurement for urns and partitions worth about 195 million pesos that was declared deserted and then directly awarded to Cajas Graf.
- An anonymous complaint filed on January 20 alleges conflict of interest and abuse of functions; the OIC review is pending, and neither Taddei nor García González has publicly commented as some counselors push for tighter administrative oversight.
