Pregnant Woman Killed by Wild Elephant in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum District

Authorities are examining whether the animal is the same tusker previously blamed for multiple fatalities.

The victim was identified by police as 30-year-old Rani Boipai of Kuida village in the Goilkera area.
She went outside her home at night after suspecting elephant movement near the house.
The elephant caught her with its trunk and trampled her to death, according to Officer-in-Charge Sujit Kumar.

Senior forest department officials are investigating any link to a tusker reportedly tied to about 22 earlier deaths, which has not been confirmed.
