Power Outages From Overnight Storms Force School Delays in Southeast Wisconsin

  • Severe overnight storms knocked out power to more than 60,000 We Energies customers, with most outages in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
  • Pewaukee Public Schools set a two-hour start delay because of a districtwide outage, paused morning 4K, and moved summer school registration to tomorrow at 6 a.m.
  • Whitewater Unified set a two-hour delay while crews addressed downed lines, canceled morning 4K, kept full-day and afternoon 4K, dropped breakfast service, and delayed bus times by two hours.
  • District officials said they are coordinating with We Energies and local crews to assess damage and restore service to schools.
