Overview
- Hyderabad’s water board said recent dust storms, hail, and unseasonal rain felled trees and snapped power lines, cutting electricity to the Singur and Manjeera pumping stations.
- A prolonged power cut halted pumping for about seven hours and severely disrupted scheduled operations, according to an official statement.
- Officials said even 15 to 30 minute power blinks stop pumps, weaken pressure, and slow delivery through the old Manjeera network.
- Neighborhoods including R C Puram, BHEL, Chandanagar, Miyapur, Kukatpally, Erragadda, S R Nagar, and Sanathnagar reported delayed or missed drinking-water slots.
- HMWSSB said it is tracking outages in real time and taking steps to restart pumping in affected zones and keep regular supply stable elsewhere.
