Overview
- Two men visited a collector in Potsdam-Eiche in February 2024 posing as company employees offering to sell his book collection for about €174,800.
- They had the victim sign paperwork presented as a brokerage contract that turned out to be a €35,000 loan application.
- The victim was told to transfer €33,000 as a security payment from the expected funds and received neither a sale nor a refund.
- Investigators have issued a public appeal and released a composite image of one suspect described as 28–35 years old, around 1.80 meters tall, slim, with black hair, brown eyes, and a southern European appearance.
